Snow Day Fun!

Is it a day when it’s snowing and raining in a pattern?  We had a day like that today.  It snowed at night, then rained, then snowed, then rain again – it was a mess!  My mom said that it is not good to play in snow that is rainy because it is slush.  Slush is not as fun as it sounds apparently.

It still looks pretty though!

So if you have a day like that I have an idea for you!  Use the recipe that you will see later. Then watch a movie that you have, or you can rent one.  We rented Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs because I love it.  We rent it so much I think we should just buy it!

Do you want to make our delicious treats like these?

They are cinnamon rolls called Clone of a Cinnabon and they are delicious!  They take a long time though.  I couldn’t wait to eat them!  I think a good idea would be to start making them while your kids are asleep so they don’t have to wait as long as I did.

So you look at this simple recipe and follow the instructions.  Here is what you will need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup margarine, melted
  • 4 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
  •
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  •
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

We made these today and they were delicious!  They looked like this before the frosting

And then I got to put the frosting on to make them extra yummy.  Next time I would make more frosting because I like them really gooey.

And decide what to  do next.  We decided to play board games!  We played Clue which is one of my favorites.

I hope this helps you have FUN on your next snow day!  We have another snow day tomorrow and we are going to make homemade Valentine cards!  I will tell you all about it when we are done.

Thank you for reading this.

  1. Those cinnamon rolls look delicious Annie – thanks for posting the recipe! I saw a picture of them on your moms blog the other day and I was hoping to get the recipe. You have great snow day ideas. They’d even work for a rainy day, since we don’t get too much snow in Arizona!

Your cinnamon rolls look delicious and I’m sure they tasted even better, because they took a while to make and you had to be patient.
