Breakfast in Bed

Last week my sister started something very fun that I thought I should tell you about.  She gave my mom breakfast in bed!  Well, not really in bed because she was on the couch.  Our littlest sister was sick and she wanted Mommy to hold her so Mommy couldn’t get up to get food.  Catie decided to bring the food to Mommy!

I think this is a  great way to let your children have fun and you get something good too!  Let your children give you breakfast in bed.  Tell your children if you want a surprise or tell them exactly what you want.  You probably shouldn’t want something too fancy or else it might be hard for them to do it.  Catie is 4 and she brought my mom a bowl of cereal (no milk), a muffin, a cup of water, and a clementine that was already peeled!  Oh, and a napkin.  She got a tray out of the cabinet and put a napkin on it and all of the food, and then she carried it in and she never spilled a drop or made any mess at all.  We were very impressed of her!

It’s fun to give breakfast in bed to your kids, too!  We have trays with foldout legs on them and those are really good for eating in bed.  You can also put a towel down if you have a really messy eater.  Foods like toast and fruit are good to eat in bed because they don’t spill as much as milk does.  Or maybe oatmeal since it’s sticky.

I hope you like my breakfast in bed ideas.  Maybe you can try them this weekend!

Catie’s clementines were a very nice surprise. What thoughtful girls I have!

I like your ideas. Would you like to make some pumpkin muffins for breakfast one day this week?

    xoxo

Mommy is very lucky! I wish somebody would bring me breakfast in bed! And peeling the clementine was especially helpful.
