I have fun making this website! I love to make things fun and I am happy you do too. I hope you liked my recipe for eye-poppin’ popcorn.
In 13 days my sister Catie will be in pre-school. She has never gone anywhere without Mommy or me and she is feeling very nervous. I think when you have somebody ready to start you should have a school party. For my going-to-school party Momma gave me a necklace that was shaped like a cross. It was so that I’d know Jesus and God were always with me, even when Momma isn’t.
Now we are planning a going-to-school party for Catie before she goes to pre-school! Here are some ideas to make your party fun:
-Decorate the house! That makes it so fun. The Dollar Store is a good place to get school-themed stuff to hang up for a school party. For my party I even made school bus pictures to hang on the walls. (And I don’t even ride a school bus! Isn’t that funny?)
-Ask your kid what their favorite games are and try to have some of those to play.
-Invite some friends to the party too! Maybe their friends are nervous about going to school too, so everyone could have fun and feel better together!
-School supplies make nice presents. Parties are better with presents! You can wrap them up for your kid to open and it makes school seem more fun! That made me feel very good about school.
-Let the kid pick all of their favorite foods to eat. I picked corn dogs, cheese sticks, and homemade chips for my party – they are so good!
-Take lots of pictures so you can remember how fun that day was.
After the party, another idea is to make something they can take to school with them. My mom made me a luggage tag with pictures of my sisters and my cousin and she hooked it on my backpack. It is nice to have a picture with you.
Now I have lots of friends from school, and I can’t wait to go back and see them again in 1st grade. 3 of the kids from last year will be in my class again this year – how cool is that?
